moving towards nomadland

Always nice to see kind words from an old friend, Mike on his blot blog, as I sent him an e-mail last night, he replied, I replied back, and so it goes with friends at a distance and from online. Good guy. Used to be on Write.as, which is where I met him.

Another old friend, Inquiry (also once on Write.as) replied to an e-mail recently, but it ended up in the Inbox of someone on Ctrl-c.club(??). How this happened, I do not know. I discussed the manner with said member, via the Iris message boards and IRC, and hopefully Inquiry got whatever figured out that he needed to figure out.

I, am re-re-re-discovering a lighter way of living. I figure the other day: damn, I got folders upon directories upon files upon external drives of JUNK!! So, I decided to rid myself of some of it. While at it, a lot of extra things in the apartment as well. I like “being prepared”, but so much decor and smaller items that were redundant I knew someone else would benefit from more. So I offloaded them at the local “day room” of this apartment property.

On property, I am moving. back to St Louis. Long time coming, but 60 day notice is official. I may flirt with doing AirBnB in the not distant future. I've moved every years since 2023, and before that, it was 2020. So in five years I've moved three (now four) times!

Effectively nomadic, I won't paint it with another brush, and won't hoard things that are decidedly “extra”. I'm no “backpack and only that” type of fellow (yet), but I can do with less, and have, and will again.

Now the night creeps in and the surrounding area recovers from tornado damage. The town is safe, my apartment is safe, not so much one county North. Coffee and whipper whills and creatures that go bump in the night out my window. Readying to be further from nature, but closer to familiarity.

Even with less items or “baggage” to bother with
